Help Centre Containers, prefixes, and QR codes
Keep trackContainers, prefixes, and QR codes
A container is the record for a physical box, drawer, shelf, or other place where you keep things. Prefixes help group related containers, while QR codes make a container quick to open.
Create and organise containers
Create a container from your dashboard and give it a clear name. Add a description, location, contents, and a reminder date where useful. Choose or create a prefix to keep a related set of containers together.
You can edit a container later as its contents or location change. Only people who have access to a shared container can view it.
Generate and print labels
Generate QR codes from the QR section, then print the labels before attaching them to containers. An unclaimed code can be claimed when you use it for a container.
Keep labels readable and avoid placing them where they will be folded, scratched, or covered. A printed code identifies the container record; it is not a password.
Open a code safely
Scan a QontaineR label with the app or open its QR link. If the container is yours or shared with you, QontaineR takes you to its record after you sign in. Do not share a container’s contents with someone who should not have access.

Frequently asked questions
Can I reuse a QR code?
Use one label for one container record. If you no longer need an unclaimed code, remove it from the QR area rather than attaching it to a different container.
Why does a scanned code not show the container?
Sign in first and check that the code is correct. A container may be unclaimed, belong to another account, or be outside the family access you have been given.
